- Finish the step above first01
Name your comic
Every comic needs a name on the cover.
Make it short and bold - something that makes a friend go 'wait, what?'
Type your comic's title.
- Finish the step above first02
Pick your hero
A comic needs a star. This is who we follow.
It can be a kid, a cat, a robot, or a talking sandwich - anything you want.
Type your hero's name plus one fun detail.
- Finish the step above first03
Lock your hero's look
Here is a secret the pros know: your hero must look the SAME in all 3 pictures.
So write down 3 or 4 things about how they look - hair, clothes, color, one item they always carry.
You will paste this every time you make a picture, so the comic feels like one story.
Type how your hero looks.
- Finish the step above first04
Choose your world
Where does this happen? A jungle? A space station? A messy bedroom?
Pick ONE place so all 3 panels feel like the same story.
Type where your comic happens.
- Finish the step above first05
Choose your art style
The style is the 'look' of the drawing. It keeps all 3 panels matching.
Examples: cute cartoon, comic-book ink, soft crayon, pixel art.
Pick ONE and stick with it the whole time.
Type your art style.
- Finish the step above first06
Get your 3 beats
A 3-panel comic has a simple shape:
Panel 1 = set it up. Panel 2 = a surprise. Panel 3 = a snappy ending.
Open ChatGPT and paste the prompt. It will act like a pro comic writer and hand you 3 beats.
Read them. Pick the setup you like - then say it YOUR way, in your own words.
Type your Panel 1 caption (the setup, under 10 words).
Open ChatGPT (new tab)You are a pro comic writer and story coach for kids. You know the 3-beat comic shape: Panel 1 sets up who and where, Panel 2 is a surprise or a problem, Panel 3 is a funny or clever ending. My hero is [hero]. My hero looks like: [heroLook]. The world is [setting]. Give me 3 short beats for a 3-panel comic - one line each - and for each beat suggest a punchy caption under 10 words. Keep it fun, clear, and easy for a beginner to draw. Then ask me one question to make it more mine. - Finish the step above first07
Write the surprise
Panel 2 is the twist. Something changes. Something goes wrong or gets weird.
Look at the beat ChatGPT gave you - then push it further. Bolder. Funnier.
Type your Panel 2 caption (the surprise, under 10 words).
- Finish the step above first08
Land the ending
Panel 3 is the payoff. It should make someone laugh, gasp, or go 'ohhh'.
The best endings connect back to Panel 1. Try that.
Type your Panel 3 caption (the ending, under 10 words).
- Finish the step above first09
Draw Panel 1
Time to make a picture. Here is the pro recipe for an image prompt:
STYLE + WHO + WHAT IS HAPPENING + WHERE.
Open your AI image maker and paste the prompt. It already has your style, hero, and world baked in.
Look at what it makes. Too plain? Add a detail. Wrong mood? Change one word.
Type your final Panel 1 image prompt (your tweaked version).
what will really happenOpen Craiyon (new tab)Image tools will not keep your hero looking the same across panels.
They garble any words and often mangle hands or faces.
The first picture is a rough draft - tweak a word and generate again.
[style], single comic-book panel. Character: [hero], [heroLook] - draw them exactly the same in every panel. What is happening: [cap1]. Where: [setting]. Bold clean outlines, one clear main thing, room at the bottom for a caption, no words in the picture.Did you regenerate to fix it, or keep the first try?
- Finish the step above first10
Build your comic sheet
Boom. Here is your full comic build sheet - all 3 captions and all 3 image prompts, ready to go.
Copy it. This is your recipe to make the other 2 pictures the same way.
Then line up your 3 pictures and add the captions under them.
Do the steps above and your Copy your comic build sheet shows up here.hold on - judge it, do not celebrate- Does the picture match the panel you pictured, or just fill the box?
- Does your hero actually look like the SAME character?
- Which panel feels generic, and what would you change?
- Finish the step above first11
Save your comic card
Nice work - you wrote it AND drew it. That is a real duo skill.
Save your card so you can show it off.
Tap save.
- Finish the step above first12
Ship it to the wall
Last move: post your comic on the class wall with #Glunty.
Add your 3 panels if you can. Then go read someone else's and tell them which panel made you laugh.
You just turned words plus pictures into a story that is 100% yours.

You made a comic!
You brought the words AND the pictures together into one story only you could make. Most people pull the lever and get slop - you brought your taste and built something real.
the slop trap
Everyone types the exact same thing
Type 'a superhero, comic style' and you get the same shiny muscle guy a million other people got.
Your recipe is different: your hero, your look locked in, your exact scene, your own world.
That is why your comic looks like YOURS and theirs looks like a stock sticker.
