Grab your song
Time for the big finish. You already made all the pieces. Now you build the real thing: a music video.
First, go get your song. That is the Suno track you made in an earlier lesson.
Paste the link so it is safe right here.
- Finish the step above first02
Grab your lyrics
A music video shows words on screen. So you need the words.
Copy the full lyrics of your song.
Paste them here. Every line.
- Finish the step above first03
Grab your look
Every music video has a look. That means the character, the outfit, and the colors that feel like YOU.
Think about the character you designed in an earlier lesson.
Write it down in a few words so you do not forget it.
- Finish the step above first04
Grab your first clip
You already made your first AI video clip. That is your starting piece.
Find it and paste the link here.
This is the seed. Your whole video grows from it.
- Finish the step above first05
Set the tone
Tone is the MOOD of your video. It is the feeling people get when they watch.
Play your song. What does it feel like? Happy? Dark? Dreamy? Fast and loud?
The tone of the video must MATCH the tone of the song. Pick words for it now.
- Finish the step above first06
Find the key lyric moments
Not every word needs to be on screen. You want the BEST lines at the BEST moments.
Let ChatGPT help. Copy the pre-prompt below. It tells the AI to act like a music video director.
Paste it into ChatGPT, fill in the [ ] parts with your stuff, and send it.
Read what it gives back. Pick the lines you love and paste them here.
Open ChatGPT (new tab)You are a music video director with 10 years of experience helping young creators. Here are my song lyrics: [lyrics]. The tone of my song is: [tone]. Please do four things: 1) Pick the 4 strongest lines to show as text on screen. 2) For each line, name the exact feeling it should show. 3) Tell me where in the song each line lands: start, middle, or end. 4) Keep every pick matched to the tone. Give me one short, clear list I can follow while I edit. - Finish the step above first07
Plan scenes that match
A scene is one part of your video with its own picture. Like one room, one street, one sky.
Every scene must MATCH your tone. If your song is calm and blue, do not make a hot red scene.
Match the colors, the setting, and the design to the mood.
Plan 3 scenes now. Keep them all in the same family of colors.
- Finish the step above first08
Make matching clips
One clip is not enough for a whole video. You need a few more pieces.
Make or collect 2 to 3 more clips or images. Here is the trick: keep them CONSISTENT.
Consistent means same character, same colors, same style, so it all looks like one video.
List the extra clips or images you will use.
what will really happenAI video clips drift from your prompt once things start moving.
Faces and hands can warp between frames - expect a few tries per clip.
Keeping the same character across every clip is the hard part.
Did you remake the clips that came out wrong, or keep whatever you got?
- Finish the step above first09
Edit it in CapCut
Now you build it. Open CapCut. It is a free video editor.
Drop your song on the timeline first. The song is your map.
Add your clips. Cut them so they change ON the beat. That makes it feel alive.
Then add your lyrics as text, one line at a time, at the right moment.
Start with your very first line of text.
Open CapCut (new tab) - Finish the step above first10
Lock in one look
Here is a pro secret: one color tied through the whole video makes it look real and planned.
Pick ONE color that shows up in every scene. It is your signature.
Check every scene. Add your color if it is missing.
This is how you keep it CONSISTENT from start to finish.
- Finish the step above first11
Build your shot list
Time to put it ALL together. This is your shot list: your whole plan on one page.
It pulls in everything you typed above.
Read it top to bottom. This is the map for your finished video.
Use it while you finish your edit in CapCut.
Do the steps above and your Build my shot list shows up here.hold on - judge it, do not celebrate- Do the clips look like ONE video, or a random pile?
- Which scene drifts from your tone or signature color?
- What one change ties it together the way you pictured?
- Finish the step above first12
