    Name your project

    A narration is a voice that tells a story or explains a video. Think of a nature show voice saying "the tiny fox waits in the snow."

    First, name the thing you are making. A short video? A spooky story? A how-to clip?

    Type a title for your project. Keep it short - just a few words.

    Say what it is about

    Now say what your narration is actually about in one sentence.

    This keeps you focused. Every word you write later should serve this one idea.

    No wrong answers - a pet, a game, a made-up world, a real thing you love.

    Pick the feeling

    Every good voiceover has a mood - the feeling it gives you. Cozy? Spooky? Super hyped up?

    Pick ONE mood. One feeling is stronger than five feelings mashed together.

    This choice will steer everything: your words, the voice, the speed.

    Write your own words

    This is the big one, and it must be YOURS. Write 4 to 6 short sentences for the voice to read.

    Write it out loud in your head. Short sentences sound better spoken than long twisty ones.

    Put the word [pause] on its own where you want the voice to stop and breathe for a second.

    Do not copy from a book or a website. Your own words are the whole point.

    Direct the tone

    "Tone" means how the voice feels. Warm and friendly? Serious and deep? Goofy and silly?

    A director tells the actor how to sound. Right now, you are the director.

    Pick a tone that matches your mood from before.

    Set the pace

    "Pace" means how fast the voice talks. Fast pace feels exciting. Slow pace feels calm or scary.

    A spooky story often goes slow. A hype sports clip goes fast.

    Mark the power words

    Good speakers punch certain words harder. "It was the BIGGEST wave I ever saw."

    Look at your script and pick 2 or 3 words that deserve extra power.

    These are the words you want the voice to lean into.

    Write your honesty line

    Big rule at Glunty: never trick a real person. An AI voice is a tool, not a fake human.

    Write one honest sentence you will show with your video, like "This voice is AI, made by me."

    Being upfront is not weak. It is the brave, honest move - and it makes YOUR taste the star, not a trick.

    Open ElevenLabs and pick a voice

    Time to meet the voices. Open ElevenLabs and look at the voice library.

    Listen to a few. Find one that fits your mood and tone. A deep calm one? A bright excited one?

    Pick a clearly-AI voice on purpose. Do NOT try to copy a real, specific person you know.

    Type the kind of voice you picked so you remember it.
