Invent Your Own Artist
Most people make one random song - you are going to build an artist whose every song sounds unmistakably like them.

Save your work, or lose it.
You can use everything without an account. Sign in to keep your progress on any device and post what you make to the class wall.
You are signing in to glunty.com. A Google or email window opens for a second, then brings you right back here.
- Finish the step above first01
Name your artist
Every artist you love has a name you remember. Drake. Billie. One name, one whole world.
You are not making one song today - you are inventing an ARTIST. That is a made-up musician whose songs all feel like THEM.
A persona is just a character you get to play. Pick a name that feels cool to say out loud. Real word, made-up word, one name or two - your call.
Type your artist's name below. This is the first brick.
- Finish the step above first02
Pick their home base
Genre is the type of music - like pop, hip-hop, rock, country, lo-fi, or hyperpop.
Your artist lives mostly in ONE genre. That is their home base - what people expect the second they press play.
You can bend the rules later. But pick the main one now so every song has a center.
Type your artist's main genre.
- Finish the step above first03
Set the feeling
Mood is the feeling a song gives you - like heartbroken, hyped, dreamy, angry, or cozy.
Great artists own a mood. You hear three seconds and you FEEL something before a single word is sung.
What does your artist make people feel? Give it in one or two words.
Type your artist's main mood.
- Finish the step above first04
Steal a decade
Here is the secret weapon almost nobody uses: the ERA. That means the decade a sound comes from.
A 1980s song and a 2020s song can be the same genre and sound totally different - the drums, the synths, the shine, all of it changes.
Pick a decade for your artist to borrow from: 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, or 2020s. This one tiny choice does a TON of the work.
Type the decade your artist's sound comes from.
- Finish the step above first05
Give them a sound
Now the instruments - the actual sounds people hear. This is the fingerprint.
Think 2 or 3 things: maybe 'warm piano and finger snaps,' or 'fuzzy guitar and big drums,' or 'glassy synths and 808 bass.' (An 808 is that deep boomy bass sound in a lot of rap.)
Keep it tight. Two or three sounds that show up in every single one of their songs.
Type your artist's signature instruments.
- Finish the step above first06
Cast the voice
A voice is not just 'boy' or 'girl.' Pros describe three things: the CHARACTER, the DELIVERY, and the EFFECT.
Character: raspy, smooth, breathy, deep, bright. Delivery: whispered, belted, rapped, half-spoken, emotional. Effect: dry and close, echoey, autotuned, layered.
Stack one from each. Example: 'smooth female alto, half-spoken delivery, dry and close.'
Type your artist's voice in a few words.
- Finish the step above first07
Invent a signature move
This is the thing that makes an artist an ARTIST: a move they pull in almost every song, so you always know it is them.
Producer moves you can steal: the DROP (everything cuts out, then the beat slams back), the BEAT SWITCH (the song flips halfway), REPEAT THE HOOK (say the catchy line extra times), or STOP-TIME (everything freezes on one word).
Pick ONE signature move your artist always does.
Type your artist's signature move.
- Finish the step above first08
Forge the hook
A hook is the catchy line people sing back - the part that gets stuck in your head. Every hit has one.
You are going to get help sharpening yours. Open ChatGPT, paste the prompt below, and it will act like a real songwriter who already knows your artist.
Read what it gives you. Then pick the ONE line you love most, or write a better one yourself. YOU decide - the machine only serves your taste.
Type your final hook below.
Open ChatGPT (new tab)You are a hit songwriter and topline expert. I am building an artist persona and I need ONE unforgettable hook (the catchy line people sing back). My artist: [artist] Genre: [genre] Mood: [mood] Era: [era] Signature sound: [sound] Voice: [voice] Signature move: [signature] Write 5 short hook lines that fit THIS artist exactly - simple, singable, 6 words or fewer, easy for a kid to remember. No fancy words. Number them 1 to 5. Then in one line, tell me why hook number 1 is the strongest. Do not write a whole song - just the hooks. - Finish the step above first09
Name the first track
Your artist needs a first single. Give this song a title.
Best trick: pull it straight out of your hook, or use two or three words that match the mood. Short titles hit the hardest.
Type the title of your artist's first track.
- Finish the step above first10
Build your Style line
Time to turn everything into a real Suno prompt. We just built it from your answers.
Below is your recipe: a STYLE line that locks in your artist's sound, plus LYRICS with structure tags like [Verse] and [Chorus]. Those tags tell Suno where each part goes.
Copy the whole thing. Open Suno, paste the Style part in the Style box and the lyrics part in the Lyrics box, then hit Create.
Come back once your artist's first song is playing.
what will really happenOpen Suno (new tab)Suno gives 2 takes, and the first rarely matches your artist yet.
It may drop your signature move even with the tag in - listen for it.
One run is a sketch of your artist, not the final sound.
Do the steps above and your Copy your artist recipe shows up here.Did you run it more than once, or keep the first artist take?
- Finish the step above first11
Save your artist card
You did not pull a lever and get slop. You built an artist with a name, a sound, and a signature - on purpose.
Save your artist card. It holds your persona so every future song can wear the same identity.
Tap the button to save your card.
hold on - judge it, do not celebrate- Does this sound like the artist you invented, or a random singer?
- What part does NOT fit your artist's identity yet?
- What would you change so every song sounds like them?
- Finish the step above first12
Put it on the wall
One last move: show the world your artist exists.
Share your card and your song with #GLUNTY, and post it on the class wall so everyone can meet your new artist.
Then start song number two - same name, same sound, same YOU.
The class wall - share yours

AN ARTIST IS BORN
You did not grab the same slop as everyone else - you built a real artist with a name, a sound, and a signature that is yours alone. From here on, every song you make already knows exactly who it is.
lazy vs yours
Anybody can type 'make a pop song.'
And everybody who types it gets the same gray slop back. No name. No fingerprint. Forgotten in five seconds.
You just did the opposite. A name, a decade, a voice, a signature move - all pointing the same way. That is not a prompt anymore. That is an ARTIST.
Every track you make from here can wear this same identity. That is how real artists get a sound you can recognize in one second.
first time here?
